The newest addition to South Jakarta’s dining scene, Costa brings the warmth and vibrancy of Catalan cooking to the heart of Senopati. Designed as a place for sharing, savoring, and connecting, Costa blends the sophistication of modern Spanish cuisine with the rustic soul of Catalonia — unpretentious, ingredient-driven, and full of personality.
Developed by BIKO Group, the hospitality team behind Silk Bistro, Fujin Izakaya, and Acta Brasserie, Costa embodies the Catalan philosophy of mar i muntanya — “sea and mountains.” Translating this concept into contemporary dining, Chef Ryan Theja draws inspiration from both land and sea, crafting dishes that balance freshness, texture, and storytelling on every plate.
Located along Jalan Gunawarman, the restaurant’s atmosphere is both cosmopolitan and intimate, merging the rhythm of Catalonia with the pulse of Jakarta. Its casual sophistication makes it a fitting choice for refined gatherings, business lunches, and leisurely dinners alike.
A Culinary Vision Led by Chef Ryan Theja
Born in Lombok, Chef Ryan’s culinary roots trace back to the ocean and the home kitchen where his passion for food first took shape. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Sydney, he honed his craft in some of Australia’s most acclaimed establishments, including The Bridge Room and Bennelong Restaurant.
In Bali, he gained further recognition as Executive Chef at Bartolo in Uluwatu and Lulu Bistrot, where his menus helped the venues earn spots on the Tatler Best in Asia and Travel + Leisure Best Restaurants in Indonesia lists. At Costa, he channels his technical precision and creative sensibility into a menu that celebrates simplicity and the finest produce.
A Menu That Bridges Land and Sea
Costa’s menu changes with the seasons, showcasing the freshest ingredients from both local and international markets. Standout dishes include Wagyu tartare on hash browns with aged Manchego, Calamares al Ajillo paired with wood-fired artisanal bread, and arroz dishes featuring prawns, Iberico pork, or other seasonal variations.
Seafood is sourced daily from Oka of Fresh Fish Bali and Japan’s Toyosu Market, underscoring Costa’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Each dish is a reflection of Chef Ryan’s vision — refined, honest, and rooted in the flavors of the Mediterranean.
A Space for Every Occasion
Costa’s interiors reflect its culinary philosophy: elegant but unpretentious, layered with texture and warmth. The glow of the wood-fired kitchen, the hum of conversation, and the inviting service create a space that feels sophisticated yet approachable.
More than a restaurant, Costa offers an experience — one that celebrates connection through food, wine, and the spirit of Catalonia. With its refined menu, creative energy, and relaxed atmosphere, Costa is set to become one of Jakarta’s most exciting new dining destinations.
