Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab has unveiled a new culinary destination, The Bombay Club, lead by the renowned Hong Kong-based Chef Manav Tuli. He brings his passion for Indian gastronomy to Dubai, offering a dining experience that honors the country’s rich culinary traditions. The Bombay Club, which soft-opened in mid-March 2025, represents Chef Tuli’s second restaurant venture and a significant step in his career as Chef-Consultant. He expresses his enthusiasm for the project, stating that it’s a “homage to India’s rich culinary heritage” and a “deeply personal dining experience”.

Complementing Chef Tuli’s vision is Head Chef Kumaran Balaji, a culinary veteran with 17 years of experience. His background encompasses roles at prestigious establishments like Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in India and Black Sheep Restaurants in Hong Kong, where he specialized in the refined cuisines inspired by India’s royal courts. This expertise, focusing on traditional Indian dishes and culinary heritage, complements The Bombay Club’s objective of presenting an authentic and historically rich dining experience.

A Culinary Journey through Mumbai’s Flavors

The Bombay Club aims to transport you to a old-time era, reminiscent of the British Raj’s Gymkhana lifestyle. The restaurant’s menu is a tribute to Mumbai’s vibrant culinary scene, featuring a selection of traditional Indian dishes, designed to be shared and savored. You can expect aromatic curries, flavorful biryanis, and crispy dosas, all prepared with authentic ingredients and techniques. The restaurant’s open Tandoori Oven and Show Kitchen provide a captivating glimpse into the culinary process.

Chef Tuli’s signature dishes, such as the succulent Tandoori Wagyu Beef Cheek, featuring tender wagyu infused with warming notes of cinnamon and ginger, and the Bohri Lamb Biryani, are featured alongside a range of new Mumbai-inspired creations. You can also enjoy dishes like Chicken Baida Roti, a flavorful parcel of chicken mince and egg; Konkani Lamb Chop, seasoned with pomegranate, garam masala, and kopra; Malwani Prawn Curry, infused with byadagi chili and coconut; and the comforting Lehsuni Saag Paneer, a spinach dish seasoned with cumin and garlic. The drink menu complements the food with a selection of Indian spirits and inventive cocktails, including the robust Masala Fashion, featuring banana-infused bourbon and Masala tea syrup, and the refreshing Golden Serenity, a blend of pineapple and turmeric syrup with tonic water. Guests can also enjoy the classic Masala Chai, a comforting blend of milk, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
