Lunar New Year celebrations in Bali have increasingly moved beyond traditional banquet halls, with beachfront resorts incorporating festive menus into their culinary calendars. This year, Alila Seminyak joins the observance with a one-evening buffet and a follow-up sharing menu at Seasalt Seminyak, placing food at the centre of its Year of the Fire Horse programme.

On 16 February 2026, Seasalt will present a Chinese New Year Buffet priced at IDR 550,000++ per person, combining Lunar festive dishes with the restaurant’s coastal identity. The buffet features live cooking stations alongside family-style staples. A Smoked Coconut Charcoal Grill anchors the offering, serving prawns, fish, squid, corn-fed duck, free-range chicken, and pork belly.

Festive highlights include Chili Crab with golden mantou, Superior Steamed Seabass with ginger and scallion, and slow-roasted Balinese Babi Guling served with lawar and crackling. The menu concludes with traditional sweets such as Tang Yuan in ginger broth, Mango Pomelo Sago, egg tarts, and Indonesian desserts, reflecting both Chinese and local influences.

A lion dance performance will take place at sunset on the same evening along the resort’s beachfront, accompanied by live music, reinforcing the celebratory atmosphere around the dinner service.

On 17 February 2026, Seasalt will continue the Lunar New Year observance with a more intimate Sharing Menu, designed for communal dining. The menu begins with Prosperity Yee Sang, the symbolic raw fish toss associated with good fortune, followed by dishes including Steamed Grouper, Gong Bao Chicken, and Five-Spice Braised Pork Knuckle. The sharing format is priced at IDR 1,888,000 net for four guests or IDR 999,000 net for two guests, positioning it as a family-style alternative to the buffet.

While the broader programme at Alila Seminyak also includes spa rituals and stay offers, the culinary focus at Seasalt frames the resort’s Lunar New Year observance around communal dining, live-fire seafood preparations, and symbolic dishes associated with prosperity and reunion.
