The St. Regis Jakarta has outlined its Lunar New Year 2026 programme under the banner of The House of Astor, presenting a series of dining experiences, festive hampers, and seasonal offerings designed around reunion, symbolism, and shared meals. The celebrations welcome the Year of the Fire Horse through food-led gatherings and traditional rituals taking place across the hotel’s dining venues.
Festive gifting forms one pillar of the programme, with three Lunar New Year hamper collections introduced for the season: the Layer of Abundance Box, Radiant Lantern Hampers, and Harmony Treasure Hampers. Each set brings together traditional festive items curated for sharing with family, friends, or business associates, extending the celebration beyond the dining table.
Seasonal pastries are also part of the Lunar New Year offering, led by a Mandarin Mousse cake available in both full-sized and petite formats. The citrus-forward dessert is positioned as a celebratory centrepiece, reflecting themes of renewal and optimism commonly associated with the new year.
At The Drawing Room, Lunar New Year is observed through a dedicated afternoon tea created by Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Lee. The menu comprises six savoury bites and six sweet creations, each interpreted through Lunar symbolism and presented in a contemporary format. Served in a relaxed setting, the experience offers a quieter way to mark the season through small plates and shared conversation.
The most extensive Lunar New Year celebrations take place at Bel Étage, where Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner, Chinese New Year Day Brunch, and Chinese New Year Day Dinner are scheduled as full festive gatherings. Each service opens with the yu sheng prosperity toss, followed by a multi-course selection of traditional dishes such as bird’s nest, braised abalone, roasted suckling pig, crispy pork belly, steamed grouper, ngo hiung, and Sichuan-style jellyfish. The menus are designed around customary symbolism, with dishes representing prosperity, longevity, and renewal.
Live music and barongsai performances accompany selected dining sessions, particularly during the Lunar New Year brunch, reinforcing the communal nature of the celebration. For guests looking to combine dining with an overnight stay, the hotel has also introduced a Chinese New Year package that includes a buffet dinner at Bel Étage, the yu sheng ritual, festive keepsakes, and seasonal amenities.
Through its Lunar New Year programme, The St. Regis Jakarta frames the celebration as a sequence of shared meals and considered rituals, using food as the central expression of tradition, reunion, and the start of a new year.
