Costa is marking its first Negroni Week in September 2026 with a trio of drinks that balance tradition and invention. The lineup begins with the Classic Negroni, joined by two new interpretations: Aji Rosita and Piña Negroni. Aji Rosita layers mezcal, Campari, Ancho Reyes Verde, and vermouth with habanero, lime, and shishito, giving the drink a lively edge. Piña Negroni moves toward tropical notes, blending pineapple rum, Jamaican rum, Campari, vermouth, and pineapple liqueur.
The idea behind these creations is to keep the familiar Negroni structure while opening space for unexpected flavors. Kabir Suharan, Beverage Director at Biko, explains that the drinks were designed to show how the classic can be reimagined without losing its essence.
Costa’s participation connects with the wider spirit of Negroni Week, which brings bars together worldwide in support of charitable causes. For Costa, the ritual of sharing a drink is part of a larger cultural rhythm. In Catalonia, vermut is a tradition; in Italy, the negroni. Both reflect the same idea — slowing down, opening the appetite, and enjoying company.
The restaurant itself draws from Catalan roots, with a menu shaped by the “mar i muntanya” philosophy, where the sea and the mountains meet on the plate. Chef Ryan Theja’s approach blends Mediterranean flavors with influences from his travels, creating dishes that carry stories of land and ocean. Located in Jakarta, Costa offers a setting that feels coastal and relaxed, where food and drink are woven into a shared experience.
This September, the Negroni becomes part of that story — a drink to linger over, a gesture of gathering, and a reminder of how simple rituals can connect people across cultures.
