Palgakdo has expanded its presence in Jakarta with a second restaurant at Lotte Mall Jakarta, following the opening of its first location at Pacific Place Jakarta. Operated by ISMAYA Group, the South Korean restaurant specializes in char-grilled chicken BBQ, with premium chicken cuts served alongside marinades, sauces, banchan, and its signature octagonal grill.
The concept takes a different approach to Korean BBQ by putting chicken at the center of the meal. While Korean BBQ is often associated with beef or pork, Palgakdo focuses on different chicken cuts, textures, marinades, and sauces, turning a familiar protein into a shared grilling experience.
Chicken Cuts and the Dakdo Experience
A key part of Palgakdo’s menu is its selection of premium chicken special cuts. Each cut offers a different texture, from tender and juicy to chewy or crisp, before being char-grilled to develop a smoky aroma and lightly charred exterior.
The chicken is cooked on Palgakdo’s Signature Octagonal Grill, which serves as the focal point of each table. Guests can grill the chicken themselves while pairing different cuts with an assortment of banchan and sauces.
This interactive format is part of the restaurant’s Dakdo experience, which centers on grilling and sharing chicken around the table. The menu is designed to encourage diners to try different cuts and combinations throughout the meal.
More Than Chicken
Alongside its signature chicken cuts, Palgakdo offers a selection of Korean side dishes and other dishes to accompany the BBQ. The menu includes noodles, soups and stews, rice balls, and fried rice, as well as a range of marinades and sauces that can be combined according to individual preferences.
