Grand Hyatt Jakarta will present The Art of Miyazaki Wagyu: An Evening of Excellence, a one-night dining event at Sumire Restaurant on 3 August 2026 that spotlights one of Japan’s most celebrated wagyu brands through a curated culinary experience.
Held in collaboration with the Miyazaki Prefectural Government and supported by PT Indosps Bogatama Sukses, the event will showcase the heritage, craftsmanship, and quality of authentic Miyazaki Wagyu through exclusive tasting menus and live demonstrations.
The evening will be attended by Toshiro Hinokuma, Vice Governor of Miyazaki Prefecture, alongside Taizo Otomori, a Certified Miyazaki Wagyu Master, who will lead a live cutting demonstration. Guests will have the opportunity to observe the precision involved in preparing Miyazaki Wagyu while learning about the production standards and craftsmanship behind the premium Japanese beef, which is recognised for its marbling, tenderness, and flavour.
To mark the occasion, Sumire’s culinary team has created two limited-edition dining experiences highlighting Miyazaki Wagyu prepared in different Japanese styles.
The Miyazaki Beef Teppanyaki Set (IDR 2,250,000++) features premium sirloin and short rib cooked à la minute on the teppan, accompanied by seasonal appetisers, Miyazaki beef fried rice, and a signature melon flambé dessert. Meanwhile, the Miyazaki Beef Kaiseki Set (IDR 2,100,000++) presents a traditional multi-course meal featuring seasonal appetisers, slow-braised Miyazaki beef, kushiyaki, nigiri sushi, and dessert.
More than a special dinner, The Art of Miyazaki Wagyu aims to introduce guests to the traditions and techniques behind one of Japan’s most acclaimed wagyu producers through a combination of authentic cuisine and cultural presentation.
The event also reflects Sumire Restaurant’s continued focus on showcasing Japanese culinary traditions through collaborations and exclusive dining experiences in Jakarta.
