Rollti, a food brand from Malaysia, has opened its first Indonesian outlet at Gandaria City Mall in South Jakarta. Known for its roti canai wraps, Rollti offers a new way to enjoy the traditional dish—simple, portable, and suited to fast-paced city life.
Roti canai, originally adapted from Indian paratha, is made by flattening dough and cooking it until the outside turns crisp while the inside stays soft. In Malaysia, it’s often served with curry. Rollti takes a different approach by wrapping the roti around fillings like minced beef, chicken, or tuna, paired with vegetables and sauces inspired by various Asian and Western flavors.
The Jakarta store features a modern café setting with an open kitchen, allowing guests to see how each wrap is prepared. The space is designed for casual dining, relaxed conversations, or quiet moments alone. To connect with local tastes, Rollti has created several menu items exclusive to Indonesia.
These include Rindu Ijo with sambal hijau, Teri Yakin Lah with teriyaki sauce, Hot Seoulmate with gochujang, and Matah Hatimu with sambal matah. Malaysian favorites like Rindu Rendang and Sate Puas are also available, along with regional options such as Chill Lah Grill Lah with dal curry, Sambal Meletup, and Mimpi Kari with curry sauce. Western-style wraps include Keju Berapi with spicy cheese, Mamba Lada with black pepper, and Keju Deja Vu with creamy cheese. For vegetarian choices, Rollti offers Vege Saja, Sambal Telur Meletop, and Telur Mushroom BadaBoom, combining vegetables, eggs, and savory sauces.
Rollti began with a simple idea from founder Fred Chan, who wanted to enjoy roti canai while driving. That led to the creation of a one-hand wrap that’s easy to carry and eat. “We want to introduce roti canai to more countries, starting with Indonesia as the first step in our expansion. Jakarta is a city with a fast pace and dynamic lifestyle, and we believe Rollti can be a favorite choice for those looking for food that’s tasty, convenient, and filling,” he said.
