Bangkok’s Restaurant Gaa is kicking off a new dining series called Uncorked Weekends, combining authentic Indian flavors with rare wines from a cellar boasting over 300 selections. This recurring event celebrates culinary storytelling through food and drink, inviting chefs from around the world to interpret India’s regional cuisines in a refined setting.

The series launches on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with Melbourne’s Chef Mischa Tropp, known for his work at TODDY SHOP, a restaurant inspired by Kerala’s spice-rich cuisine. Guests will enjoy signature dishes like crispy Fish Fry, the comforting Ghee Masala Dosa, and a sweet finish of Sevai Payasam—thin rice noodles simmered in milk, sugar, and aromatic spices.

Central to the experience is access to Gaa’s exclusive wine cellar. The cellar includes rare bottles such as the 2014 Eric Thill Crémant Du Jura Rose, Jura, France, and Raíces Prieto Picudo, 2021, Castilla y Leon, Spain. The concept of “uncorking” goes beyond wine—it’s about opening up India’s diverse culinary landscapes.

The event reflects the vision of Chef Garima Arora, Gaa’s founder, whose approach to Indian cuisine blends tradition with innovation. Each edition of Uncorked Weekends will feature new chefs and highlight different regions of India, making every gathering a fresh exploration of taste and culture. You can expect a relaxed lunchtime setting with thoughtful food and unexpected wine pairings, curated to celebrate the many facets of Indian cooking.
