Jakarta saw a quiet reunion this season—one not marked by fanfare, but by the rhythm of two kitchens working in sync. HOME & AWAY, a culinary collaboration between Pot Boy Aru and BRAUD General Store, unfolded across two dates and two neighborhoods, with one shared thread: the flavor of Bali.

The first gathering took place on August 31st at Pot Boy Aru, where Chef Windu welcomed guests into his home turf for a brunch shaped by memory and movement. Chef Bagus of BRAUD joined him behind the counter, adding his own touch to a menu that leaned into comfort and spice. Dishes like breakfast burritos, beer-battered fish, and urutan rosti gave the morning a sense of play, while shakshuka and bahn mi added depth. It was a daytime shift that felt like a conversation between old friends—easy, layered, and full of small surprises.

The second part of the collaboration is set for September 4th, this time at BRAUD General Store in Senopati. Chef Bagus takes the lead for dinner, with Chef Windu stepping into BRAUD’s kitchen to co-create a menu that blends European technique with Balinese soul. Expect a mix of grilled meats, rice dishes, and bold sambals, alongside lighter plates like cucumber salad and fish sate. Desserts bring a quiet finish—kaya toast with raspberry kecombrang, and a coconut pavlova with black rice.

Throughout both shifts, wines selected by Lazarus Pulp are poured to match the mood and the menu. They’re not the main act, but they play their part—subtle, thoughtful, and well-paired.

HOME & AWAY isn’t just about food. It’s about movement—between kitchens, between chefs, between styles. It’s about what happens when two people cook together, not to impress, but to share. One shift has passed, but the story continues.
