As the city’s icon of luxurious hospitality, the recently crowned Best Luxury Hotel, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah aims to provide its affluent guests with
unrivalled experiences, including during the month of Ramadhan.

More commonly known as a fasting month, Ramadhan is the most important month for Muslims around the world. While its core rituals are similar everywhere, Ramadhan is celebrated in various ways by different Muslim community diasporas all over the world. In Indonesia, the fasting month is a festive month that involves ubiquitous food feasts. Every day, Muslim Indonesians celebrate Ramadhan by showing off the prowess of their many culinary cultures. During Ramadhan, as a Muslim, you are required to fast and observe restrain, but at the same time, it is also the month where you are spoiled with delicious food everywhere during the break fasting time.

Not just one or two, but as many as four well-respected masters of the culinary arts will be involved in InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s star-studded Ramadhan celebration. Themed “Cuisines of The Far East”, the world-class hotel has prepared a wide range of premium food treats for its sophisticated guests and customers created by these four kitchen wizards. Germany-born and Europe-trained Chef Attila Körmöczi will lead the all-star team assisted by his equally skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef Bedjo Sudiyono, who has been responsible for many of the most popular Indonesian bites served up at the award-winning Sugar & Spice.

Last year celebrity guest chef, one of the leading authorities of Indonesian cuisine who was also a Best Asian Chef nominee at the 2012 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, and a judge in popular reality TV show MasterChef Indonesia, the renowned Chef Degan Septoadji, is also coming back to wow Jakarta’s knowledgeable foodies with some of his finest creations. Think premium-grade salmon fillet served with coconut milk, turmeric, pickled vegetables and fried shallot; or wok-tossed marinated wagyu rump with green chilli sambal, tomato, and lime leaf. These two fine dishes will be part of a big showcase of extraordinary food creations that will also include fine culinary treasures from East Indonesia, West Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Thailand.

All of these superb dishes are available at Sugar & Spice’s special Iftar Buffet, which will available during Ramadhan month (from IDR 515K++/person). Alternatively, guests are also invited to break their fast at The Lounge with a Takjil package (from IDR 288K++/person) that includes an a la carte choice of some of the hotel’s most popular dishes such as Beef Rendang, Sop BLT, Ikan Bakar Parahyangan and the hotel’s master mixologist Bill Wismoyo’s interpretation of a unique Padang drink called Kopi and Teh Tahlua (from IDR 72K++/glass).

It is not a complete InterContinental dining experience if it does not include artisanal sweet treats. And to provide guests with the best offerings of festive cakes, Indonesian pastry superstar Kim Pangestu is working together with the hotel’s pastry team to create singular sweet treats such as Klepon Cake (IDR 608K++), Nastar Cake (IDR 608K++), Sticky Toffee Dates (IDR 580K++), Medjol Dates Dipped in Chocolate (IDR 428K++), Ramadhan Pralines (IDR 288K++) and many more. All of these spectacular sweet treats will be available at the hotel’s Ramadhan Cake Shop located in the Lobby

Classy hampers will also be available for sale throughout the festive month. This year, the hotel is working together with Muslim fashion designer extraordinaire Ria Miranda whose understated scarf designs have taken Indonesia’s Muslim fashion world by storm. Her fine Muslim fashion
pieces will be included in the
Diamond (IDR 3.388 million++) and Titanium (IDR 2.550 million++) hamper packages.

In addition, to celebrate the end of Ramadhan and celebrate the momentous Lebaran tradition, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah are also offering its guests attractive stay packages and family-style halal bihalal lunch and dinner menus.
