After two years of cementing their reputation as the best Chinese restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk, The Chinese National introduced a new concept to the public on 6 October 2021. The restaurant, which sits on the seventh floor of Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue, is now more focused on serving Cantonese cuisine to its loyal and new patrons.

Previously, the restaurant offered a more generic Chinese cuisine which is served at its four thematic areas. “As an authentic Cantonese Chef, it’s my duty to deliver the Cantonese original flavor. My aim is to bring out and highlight the original flavors of the vegetables, meats, or fruits. Bringing the best food to the table is what I am pleased to do at The Chinese National,” said Kong Fook Sin, Chinese Executive Chef of The Chinese National during the press conference.

Furthermore, Sin explained that Cantonese cuisine has a distinct flavor compared to Sichuan or Dongbei cuisine respectively. Originating from the Guangdong province of China, the cuisine puts forward simple dishes that are all about clear, natural flavors and is a reflection of the region’s abundant seafood and agricultural products. “They usually highlight the freshness of the ingredients in the cooking and they make sure that the spices used are not overpowering the flavor,” uttered Sin.

To guarantee the freshness of the ingredients, The Chinese National now has a dedicated live cooking station from a wok station to lamien to grill to the dessert station.  However, for those who are familiar with The Chinese National’s dim sum feast, the chef promised that he and his team are keeping the dim sum fare but now comes with some upgrades.

To celebrate the relaunch and the second anniversary of Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue, The Chinese National offers special prices for their guest with the following options: an all-you-can-eat Cantonese buffet for lunch at Rp198.000++ per pax and Cantonese all-new menus for a la carte dinner starts from Rp60.000++ per portion. The all-you-can-eat buffet comes with more than 50 dishes to choose from.
