The culinary world took notice as Chef Tam’s Seasons, located within Wynn Palace in Macau, made a stunning leap to the No. 9 spot on the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list. This achievement, unveiled at a ceremony in Seoul on 25 March 2025, not only secured the restaurant’s place among Asia’s elite but also crowned it the “Highest Climber,” jumping a remarkable 40 places. Chef Tam’s Seasons also retained its title as “Best Restaurant in Macau” for the second consecutive year.
The driving force behind this success is Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung, whose innovative approach to Cantonese cuisine blends tradition with contemporary techniques. His unique concept revolves around the 24 solar terms of the Chinese calendar, influencing the seasonal menus and ingredient selection to create dishes that harmonize the five flavors. This dedication to culinary artistry has earned Chef Tam’s Seasons significant acclaim, including two MICHELIN stars in the 2025 Hong Kong & Macau guide.
Prior to the awards ceremony, Chef Tam participated in a special “50 Best Signature Sessions” event, collaborating with Chef Min Kyung-Hwan of Seoul’s Born & Bred. This culinary exchange showcased Chef Tam’s ability to create exceptional Cantonese dishes using premium Korean ingredients, highlighting Wynn’s commitment to fostering international culinary collaborations. Wynn’s influence extended beyond the restaurant, with Mark Lloyd, Head Mixologist of Wing Lei Bar, also making a guest appearance at Seoul’s Pine & Co, showcasing innovative cocktails with a Lee Kum Kee twist.
Chef Tam’s Seasons’ significant rise in the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list reaffirms Wynn’s dedication to promoting Chinese cuisine on a global scale and solidifies Macau’s position as a leading culinary destination. The restaurant’s success is a testament to Chef Tam Kwok Fung’s talent and vision, showcasing the power of blending tradition with innovation.
