In Jakarta’s busy work culture, long hours and crowded commutes often leave little room to relax. Many office workers find it hard to separate work from personal time, even after the day ends. That’s why Heineken has launched Ahhh-fterwork — a new experience that encourages people to take a break, enjoy the moment, and reconnect with others. This program runs from July to September and offers a series of activities that focus on the five senses. The goal is simple: help people slow down and enjoy their afterwork hours in a more meaningful way.
It begins with the sense of smell. Participants are invited to visit Heineken’s brewery and learn how the beer is made. They can smell the natural ingredients — malted barley, hops, and pure water — and see how the brewing process works. The beer is fermented for 28 days using a special yeast, which gives Heineken its familiar taste. Next, the experience moves to sight and sound. On August 1st, Heineken celebrated International Beer Day at Black Owl in Pantai Indah Kapuk. Visitors enjoyed a lively show with colorful visuals and music designed to reflect the ingredients and brewing process. It was a chance to enjoy a drink while appreciating the craft behind it.
In September, the focus shifts to touch. Heineken teams up with Museum MACAN to create an interactive art installation. Visitors can feel the textures of the ingredients used in brewing, offering a hands-on way to connect with the product. Finally, the journey ends with taste. From September 23 to 26, Heineken hosts a special dining event at Fomo Bar in Jakarta. The menu is inspired by each step of the brewing process, with dishes designed to highlight the flavors and care that go into making the beer.
Through these events, Heineken hopes to remind people that afterwork time isn’t just about finishing the day — it’s a chance to recharge, enjoy good company, and appreciate the small things. Whether through scent, sound, art, or food, Ahhh-fterwork offers a new way to make evenings more enjoyable.
