Hi! Can you tell us about yourself, your day-to-day activities, and your role as KISAKU’s co-founder?
Hi, I’m Catherine Halim, and I’m currently building a new beauty startup called Blunies! We sell body care products that are multifunctional and affordable.

What do you like the most about your job?
My job allows me to experience many exciting things! I love being able to meet new people every day.

What usually attracts you to visit a place to eat?
I love a hidden gem. The least known, the more attractive!

What is your favorite coffee order?
An oat latte!

What is your comfort food, and where do you go to have them?
Soup. I love anything soupy, so for me, hotpot is AMAZING!

Is there any food you can eat every day without getting bored?
Honestly, give me soup, and I will survive.

What is the most unforgettable food experience you have ever had?
I am always so surprised by the food from old school or heritage places. I love the Rendezvous restaurant in the Menteng area! So old school and so authentic.

What is your most recent dining destination that left a good impression?
White pepper crab from JB Ah Meng. I was recently in Singapore, and this place serves all kinds of traditional Chinese food. The recipe is passed down from villages in Malaysia!

Do you have any go-to venues for hanging out with friends or special occasions with family?
I love going to Korean restaurants like Bamsae. I always like to celebrate with soju, makgeolli, and beer!

In the past few years, we have seen a lot of unique food trends; which food trends do you like the most?
I love the fact that Szechuan cuisine is so popular in Jakarta. I’ve always liked Szechuan because I grew up in Singapore!

Where are your top three dining places always on your favorite list?
Kado in Midplaza, Gamagol in Wolter Mongosidi, and Hay Thien hotpot, the OG hotpot!

Any upcoming plans or projects for KISAKU this year?
At the moment, we are preparing for a special collaboration. Please stay tuned!

What are your plans for the rest of 2023?
Live well and be grateful 😆❤️
