T’ang Court, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, is one of only four Cantonese restaurants worldwide to be awarded three Michelin stars. On October 28, The Langham Jakarta brings the great three Michelin stars experience to Jakarta with the opening of T’ang Court Jakarta.
Executive Chinese Chef Chong Kooi Sam and his culinary team will delight your experience with exquisite selections of delicacies from the ultimate Cantonese cuisine.
The restaurant’s stellar reputation is built on flawless service, imperial ambiance, and a superb and lavish selection of Cantonese fine-dining dishes.
Chef Chong Kooi Sam has prepared dishes from the highlighted menu, such as T’ang Court Peking Duck, Duck Meat Fried Rice, Vegetarian Winter Melon White Fungus Soup, Beef Ribs Black Pepper Sauce, Pan-fried Short Ribs in Honey Glazed, Steamed Spotted Grouper with Shredded Pork, Flaming Baked Mud Crab with Turnip Cake, Deep-fried Stuffed Crab Shell, Steamed Fresh.
To start with our Michelin-starred dining experience, T’ang Court Appetizer Selections is served. It consists of three dishes, Chicken Floss Soft Shell Crab, Eggplant with Black Vinegar and Fragrant Onion Oil, and Pickled Cherry Tomato with Plum Sauce. There’s something that feels humble yet sophisticated in each dish; the Eggplant was something I have never tasted before; it is sweet, savory, yet fresh at the same time.
Located on the 61st floor of The Langham, Jakarta, there were no distractions that disturbed us. The sound of the spoon gently tapping on the plate was the only thing we could hear; everyone was deeply immersed in their food.
In aiming to provide the best for the guests, freshness and the quality of ingredients are essential. That is why the T’ang Court team has selected some of the best ingredients, from locally grown to imported ones. Much like the Pan Fried Wagyu Beef Cubes in Black Pepper Sauce. The meat was very tender and offered a burst combination of zesty, smoky, spicy, and sweet at the same time.
If you are someone who loves seafood, take advantage of the Steamed Fresh Crab Claw on Egg Custard with Caviar. The silky smooth egg custard is adorned with plenty of crab meat that is succulent and freshly sweet.
The imperial Chinese Tang dynasty, deemed as the golden age of cosmopolitan culture and trade, inspired the restaurant’s name. The opulent imperialism of the era is reflected in both the sophistication and authenticity of the menu and the sumptuous contemporary design at T’ang Court.
With its breathtaking views of the Jakarta skyline, T’ang Court offers a refreshed interior filled with distinguished Tang Dynasty-styled decor of ancient Chinese history and elegant oriental touches.
The lavish furnishings provide a unique and aesthetic setting. Diners will be drowned in the richness of culture galore, with a touch of Sancai influence on horse pottery and mural, three-colored ceramic, and, eventually, the extra blue pigment from cobalt. The majority of the pots in the main hall are filled with Bao Xiang Hua, a mythological flower.
With 160 seating capacity open for lunch and dinner, T’ang court has six well-appointed private dining rooms to accommodate family gatherings, business engagements, and even romantic dates.
