After successfully holding “Bukber di Mad Grass” for the first time last year, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan this time around, Mad Grass held “Bukber di Mad Grass” for the second time. “Bukber di Mad Grass Vol. 2” was held from April 22 to April 24, 2022, located at Mad Grass Collaborative Space and Cloud Kitchens, South Jakarta.

In “Bukber di Mad Grass Vol. 2”, Mad Grass aims to invite the public to embrace a plant-based lifestyle during Ramadan. Mad Grass aims to normalize the plant-based diet and to make it easier to do especially during Ramadan by providing various activities during the event. The series of activities this year is nothing less exciting and interesting than last year! From talk shows with Pandu Padmanegara, Marina Kusumawardhani, and Willy Yonas about the benefits of a plant-based diet while fasting to a live music performance and album launching “Selamat Menikmati” from Dr. Driando.

 The first day of the event started with a talk show about the benefits of a plant-based diet while fasting with Pandu Padmanegara, a plant-based enthusiast and digital strategist at CommCap, Marina Kusumawardhani, a researcher at Harvard/MIT, and Willy Yonas, a nutritionist and founder of Seutuhnya. The talk show explores how plant-based diet and veganism has changed their way of life as well as shares how being plant-based supports increasing wellness quality and greater longevity. Live music performance, as well as an album launching by DRIANDO, also part of “Bukber di Mad Grass Vol.2” second day’s highlight! Dr. Amadeus Driando Ahnan-Winarno (Driando) is known as one of the founders of the Indonesian Tempe Movement. Besides that, Driando is still pursuing his childhood dream, Driando writes and produces his music, accessible through Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms.

The event starts from 3.30 pm to 9.30 pm, inviting the vegan community and locals to gather and breaking the fast together! Celebrating with good energy with various food tenants from Mad For Coffee, Plantelicious, Cincau Cuan, iVegan Pizza, Kinkitsuya, Kyuri, Sematjam, Naked Buns, Mayurs.id, Two Fat Indians, Gerobak Rebel from Green Rebel Foods, By Kalytera, Joon’s Kitchen, Kini Daily, Vegenzy Kitchen, and also some non-food tenant that helps to make the event more wholesome from stress and energy check-up from Golden Space Indonesia, handmade ceramics from Made by Margaret Yap, one-of-a-kind organic bamboo cotton tees from Anykind, and cruelty-free, vegan, premium soy wax candles from Scents of Language!

Mad Grass is the first collaborative space and cloud kitchens in the world that focuses on vegan/plant-based products that have been established since 2021. Located in the heart of South Jakarta, Mad Grass offers a wide variety of vegan or plant-based food that are delicious, fun, and affordable. Mad Grass wants to introduce to a wide audience that plant-based products or foods are now easy to obtain and not always expensive.

Mad Grass aims to be the next new attraction that South Jakarta has to offer to spread awareness about the plant-based lifestyle and improve the plant-based business ecosystem that can grow alongside other businesses. Mad Grass is also pet friendly and offers an outdoor communal area that offers various types of food from 12+ tenants ranging from coffee, hearty meals, snacks, and eco-products to zero-waste bulk stores.
