On July 30, 2023, Nasi Peda Pelangi SCBD will host “Sehari-Rasa Part 5: Sulteng.” Sehari-Rasa is a celebration to appreciate Indonesia’s food biodiversity on its fertile land, with the menu inspired by Sukarno’s collection, Mustika Rasa. Each region in Indonesia possesses delicious and beneficial ingredients that represent our cultural identity.
As the first part of Merangkai Rasa Lestari by Festival Lestari, “Sehari-Rasa: Sulteng” is the result of our learning journey after participating in Festival Lestari 5: Kabupaten Sigi. We learned about the traditional Sulteng dishes directly from local mothers in their kitchens.
For “Sehari-Rasa Part 5,” Nasi Peda Pelangi will present a package of authentic Sulteng dishes, including Sate Ayam Biromaru, Ikan Bakar, Utu Tikala, Nasi Baik Jagung, and a dessert named Tanah Gapura, a result of their experimentation with local commodities from Kabupaten Sigi, such as moringa leaves, vanilla, and chocolate.
The event will also include a “Taste Talk” with our fellow culinary enthusiasts: Kaum Restaurant, Kang Duren, Parti Gastronomi, Cork & Screw, and Masak.tv, as well as a “Cultural Discussion” with Berama Nusantara, Amazing Point of Balance, and Johar Zauhariy from LTKL. Lalove, a traditional musical instrument from Kabupaten Sigi, will be performed by Erikson Jayanto and Ibee Music.
Since its establishment in 2018, Nasi Peda Pelangi believes that every region in Indonesia has its unique spices, representing the cultural identity of the nation. We aim to bring back the taste of home-cooked meals amidst towering buildings, with a mission to preserve Indonesia’s local cuisine, especially for the younger generation, through the everyday warung experience that also helps preserve our culture and environment.
