In its 5th year, Jakarta Dessert Week (JDW) has become the largest celebration of the dessert and pastry industry, bringing together over 100 restaurant brands, from corporate giants to home-based enterprises. JDW x Tokopedia continues to thrive as a promising digital revenue source, introduced during the pandemic. Dessert Markt also remains a part of the festivities, providing a platform for emerging brands.
JDW retains its original concept as a restaurant week festival, inviting the public to explore curated restaurants and patisseries, and discover limited edition menus. Public engagement is encouraged through the collection of stamps in the Dessert Hunt booklet, sponsored by Bank Mandiri, with exciting prizes awaiting the lucky winners.
Here are the three main programs of #JDW2023:
- City Takeover (September 25 – October 22, 2023): Encouraging the public to visit 100+ dining spots, cafes, pastry shops, and gelato parlors from 40 curated brands.
- Dessert Markt at Aloha PIK (October 9 – 22, 2023): Featuring 30+ small and medium-sized businesses.
- JDW by Tokopedia: Serving as a dedicated landing page with offerings from 50+ curated merchants.
Folklore Inspires JDW 2023
For JDW 2023, the theme is “Folklore,” serving as the foundation for creating limited edition menus. Chefs are challenged to draw inspiration from the uniqueness of Indonesian and foreign folklore and legends. The theme selection serves as JDW’s strategy to promote local values to modern practitioners.
JDW 2023 also marks the debut of PT Map Boga Adiperkasa Tbk, collaborating with celebrity chef Yuda Bustara. Chef Yuda Bustara has been selected to create limited edition menus for GODIVA, PAUL, Cold Stone Creamery, and Krispy Kreme. His contemporary take on these brands’ menus and creative flavors are made possible through the creative freedom provided to him.
"Sweet Tales": A Tribute to the Industry
As a tribute to the industry, the “Sweet Tales” photo exhibition at Plaza Indonesia showcases 22 pastry chefs, bakers, gelato makers, and chocolatiers. These trendsetters were captured by Thomas Sito, using the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G.
Patrick Owen, Chief Marketing Officer of OPPO Indonesia, commented, “Congratulations on the Jakarta Dessert Week 2023. The culinary sector is one that never ceases to innovate, constantly offering diverse cuisines with tantalizing flavors and presentation. This mirrors the world of technology, which must continually innovate to meet the daily needs of its users. OPPO is proud to be part of Dessert Week 2023. With the sophistication of OPPO’s camera technology, we can capture not only the visual appearance of the wide variety of cuisines but also the tastemakers behind Indonesia’s dessert and pastry industry, each with their own inspiring story. OPPO looks forward to continuing collaborations with various parties and innovating to provide user-friendly technology.”
