Aiming to keep providing Jakarta’s affluent foodies with extraordinary dining experiences, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah has created a new and exclusive dining event at their signature restaurant Sugar & Spice. Once a week, every Thursday night, Jakarta’s favorite restaurant is treating meat lovers in the capital to a new cutting-edge wagyu dining experience.

An elite staple of gourmet food connoisseurs everywhere, this extra-special Japanese beef cattle (wagyu in Japanese means Japanese cow) is the result of hundreds of years of crossbreeding between native Japanese cattle with foreign cattle from other Asian countries and even Europe since the Meiji period in the late 1800s.

Nowadays, four breeds are considered wagyu: the Japanese Black, Japanese Brown (also known as Red Wagyu in the US), Japanese Polled, and Japanese Shorthorn. The most elite brands are Sandai Wagyu, which comes from the Tajima strain of Japanese Black. The best known of these are Kobe, Matsusaka, and Ōmi beef.

The award-winning F&B team at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah has sourced the world’s best cuts of wagyu beef. These kitchen wizards have made these exquisite beef marbles the main subject of their culinary creativity. You can expect a new level of mind-blowing taste explosions from dishes such as Sate Wagyu Maranggi, Wagyu Aburi, Tajima Wagyu Striploin, and Braised Wagyu Beef Shank.

A selection of carefully curated premium wines will also be available to pair with these superb meat-based works of art.
The exclusive, high-quality meat feast takes place every Thursday at Sugar & Spice from 6 PM onwards. Prices start from IDR 498,000++/person.
