A Magnificent night with enchanting Live Kecak performance while enjoying scrumptious authentic dishes from the island of God. Kecak & Balinese Buffet Dinner is held at Taman Gita, one of the restaurants at InterContinental® Bali Resort, from 06.30 pm until 10.00 pm. Around 50++ guests joined the Kecak & Balinese Buffet Dinner.

To increase the awareness and conservation of Balinese Culture, InterContinental® Bali Resort held this event with culinary excitement, such as a Balinese Buffet Dinner. There will be Balinese culinary treats such as satay lilit, klepon, be pasih me base gede (grilled fish with Balinese spices), and others.

Kecak is one of the most spectacular Balinese dance dramas that mainly tells the story of the Ramayana. The Ramayana story tells about the character of Sang Rama, who wants to save his wife, Sita, who was kidnapped by the giant king Ravana. With the help of the mighty white monkey, Hanoman, Sang Rama managed to save Dewi Sita. This dance involves many male dancers sitting in a circle and with a certain rhythm chanting “cak” while moving their uplifted arms. This describes one of the events in the Ramayana when a line of monkeys helps Sang Rama against Ravana.

In addition, there are also several other dances, such as the Panyembrama Dance and the Barong & Kera Dance. This Panyembrama dance is performed by several female dancers who bring bowls filled with flowers. At the end of the dance, the dancers will scatter the flowers in front of the guests as an expression of welcome. Barong & Kera dance is a dance that tells about the life of the jungle king who plays with his best friend, the monkey. In Balinese mythology, Barong is a lion-shaped figure who is considered the King of the Spirits, which symbolizes virtue or is also known as a guardian angel.

With many foreign guests coming to Bali, this is an opportunity for InterContinental Bali Resort to introduce the hotel in the eyes of the world as well as introduce Balinese culture and culinary specialties in the form of the Kecak & Balinese Buffet Dinner event.
