The quiet, meandering coast of Nusa Dua just welcomed a thrilling addition into its neighborhood. Having undergone a complete revamp, Ikan at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, offers a one-of-a-kind destination to dine, drink and savor life at its best.
Serving fresh seafood and food with an Indonesian influence by the beach, Ikan is a casual restaurant during the day and a fine dining establishment at night. Due to its beachfront location and modern island aesthetic, the outdoor restaurant and bar is easy to notice. Thanks to its thatched roof, tactile furnishings, and locally inspired design elements, Ikan offers two distinct experiences during the day and at night.
Before moving to the main restaurant area for dinner, guests are welcome to enjoy an aperitif at the beachside, close to the bar. As an alternative, the adjacent Ikan Bar provides a chic setting to partake in alcohol with its wicker-back bar stools and turquoise-covered island counter. The restaurant also has a semi-private dining area with a hexagonal shape for groups that want some privacy and an air-conditioned private dining room that can seat up to 20 people. At the same time, five separate beachside tables are perfect for couples’ romantic dinners.
Ikan’s daytime and evening menus, created under the direction of Chef de Cuisine Fajar Kurniawan Putra, incorporate his love of regional Indonesian cuisine and local produce. The Balinese chef gained experience in some of the island’s renowned kitchens when he was just 20 years old before taking the helm at Ikan. Meanwhile, Ikan Bar is helmed by the well-known local talent, Marlon Hermanto, as the Head Mixologist. Guests can experience and taste Marlon’s prowess in creating craft cocktails and mixing premium artisanal spirits with house-made infusions at Ikan Bar.
The menu’s small bites, tapas, main courses, and dessert options are all available for guests to indulge in. Highlights include a slow-cooked Ayam Upih Betutu and a freshly caught Ikan Bakar prepared in the Jimbaran style and served with sayur urap vegetables and sambals. Crab Spring Roll is served with salad and tangy belimbing wuluh salsa. Bulung is a refreshing seaweed salad made of seared tuna.
Pair the dishes with one of Ikan Bar’s distinctive craft cocktails, like Gunung Agung, made with Nusa Cana Rum, Falernum, and roselle soda as a tribute to the island’s formidable volcano. In addition to the excellent selection of craft beers, premium gins, Araks, and artisanal spirits at the bar, you can try The Italian Job, a concoction made with house-made limoncello, prosecco, green apple soda, and dill.
With this renovation, Ikan presents a significantly greater experience. Discover how Ikan’s laid-back vibes can transform a dining establishment into a place where you can spend a day with friends and family.
