Kue Bulan in Bahasa, or mooncake as it is popularly known, is a traditional cake that is a must to enjoy during the autumn season for all ethnic Chinese diaspora. As the name implies, mooncakes are typically round, have a thick, tender pastry skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling, and may contain one or more whole salted egg yolks in their center that symbolize the full moon.
