AirAsia Grabs Food Delivery Market in Indonesia

In response to the death of the travel industry during the pandemic, AirAsia is now tapping into the lifestyle section with its Super App.

AirAsia Group is planning to expand its business in Indonesia by launching airasia food, a food delivery service. First launched in Malaysia in May 2020, airasia food is claimed to have become one of the most uprising food delivery services in the country and has been expanded to Singapore and Thailand. 

“We offer a food delivery service with the cheapest fee and the best service,” said Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia Group. Tony also explains that airasia food aims to ensure the merchants will get much profit under the app’s profit-sharing scheme. “AirAsia is well known for its lowest fare and the value of money. Hence, we offer the lowest operational cost to our merchants to make sure they get the best profit,” uttered Tony.

Planned to be released in the first quarter of 2022, airasia food has succeeded to attract hundreds of merchants. As per its press release, some of the merchants are Shihlin, Haus, The Harvest Cakes, D’Crepes Dapur Cokelat, and Mujigae. airasia food will be available on AirAsia Super App or airasia.com/food. Aside from food delivery service, the company that has just rebranded to Capital A, will soon also offer courier, grocery, ride, and beauty services.
