Following the success of the previous two events in May and June, the Chef Take Over Series, the monthly program of 1928 Restaurant at The Hermitage, a
Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta continues with another well-loved chef. This month, 1928Restaurant welcomes Mili Hendratno, chef and owner of the celebrated Mil’s Kitchen in Yogyakarta.
In line with The Hermitage Jakarta’s theme of “Reviving The Heritage: Reminiscing The Past, Embracing The Future,” Chef Mili, together with Executive Chef The Hermitage Jakarta, Ferdian Tobing, will highlight the richness of Indonesian culinary as well as celebrate the colonial history of the hotel’s building.
Chef Mili started his career after he graduated from Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bandung in 2007. Since then, he has embarked on numerous jobs to sharpen his culinary master skill at various five-star hotels and restaurants in Indonesia and Germany. Since 2017, he has worked as the Executive Chef for Bowery and Eastman Coffee House, two of the best eateries in Semarang under the Tavern Group. In July 2020, he opened Mil’s Kitchen, a humble yet praised small restaurant in Yogyakarta.
For the Chef Take Over Series, on 22 and 23 July 2022, Chef Mili will be showcasing a selection of his take on modern Indonesian heritage dishes, including Smoked Salmon Rempeyek, Bone Marrow Sapi Klatak, Mangut Soft Shell Crab, and more. The 5-course set menu dinner sessions at 1928 Restaurant are offered at Rp728.000++ per person.
