Monty’s Unveils New Lunch Package
The contemporary European restaurant has unveiled a new lunch menu that features–surprise, surprise–Asian-inspired and keto-diet-friendly dishes!
Monty’s has always been proud of its fresh Scandinavian style of cooking and international menu specializing in grilled seafood and meats, as well its variety of healthy, organic and unique dishes.
Executive Chef and Owner Christer Foldnes, however, said that he realized that many places have Asian dishes on offer and Monty’s needed to catch up.
“So we came up with these Asian and keto-diet dishes. We’re definitely trying something new,” said Christer.
Some of the featured dishes are a Peri-Peri Baked Chicken with fried rice and salad with sambal matah dressing; Black Pepper Prawns with fried rice and salad; Fried Chicken Benedict with avocado and hollandaise; and Sirloin Steak Salad with avocado.
“I haven’t seen a lot of places in Jakarta doing keto-diet dishes, so let’s hope this will work well,” said Christer.
The chef worked with the staff to create the Asian dishes, asking them to come up with dishes that Asian, and especially Indonesians, would love.
“They came up with some dishes, I then put in a little bit of my twist,” said Christer, named the Norwegian Seafood Chef of the Year in 2009.
He said the team had been planning the new menu since August, taking their time to make sure everything would work.
Although Asian and keto dishes are new territory for Monty’s, Christer and his team were still keeping the establishment’s culinary signature.
“It’s hard to come with something very unique, but we’re still doing this with our style. It’s a very fresh and clean menu–not very ‘fusion’. We put a maximum of five ingredients on a plate because we don’t want to mess with the flavors,” he said.
