Welcoming Gaya Gelato to South Jakarta

Snuggled inside Pondok Indah Mall, the latest outlet of Gaya Gelato is ready to serve refreshing treats to the people of Jakarta.

Gaya Gelato was established in Bali and kept growing on the resort island before reaching the capital. The brand’s latest shop recently opened in the Street Gallery of Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta, while other branches can be found at Pantai Indah Kapuk, Mal Kelapa Gading and Grand Indonesia.

“Gaya Gelato is serving artisanal gelato, which means we’re only using natural ingredients–no preservatives–and serve freshly made gelato every day. Currently, Gaya Gelato is the biggest gelateria in Indonesia,” said Fredy Lays, CEO of Gaya Gelato Indonesia.

Of the many offered flavors, my tongue got hooked on the pistachio and the fragola, or strawberry. The green and red gelatos are great for Instagram posts and also a perfect match to soothe you after getting worked up by the busy pace of Jakarta. I also loved the tropical flavors like mango and passion fruit.

One thing that Gaya Gelato can be proud is a commitment to push a healthy approach without sacrificing flavor. They are not using any GMO, food colorings, preservatives or artificial flavors.

Their gelatos and sorbets are all gluten free. Even their cones are made without using any milk, eggs or gluten; while still using a little bit of sucrose for sweetness. They also use ingredients from local food providers to make sure they get the freshest fruits for their products, which are combined with imported ingredients to create the true flavor of Italian gelato.

The new outlet is a flagship store. Here people can enjoy a cone of gelato with various other options, such as cookies or a cup of coffee. Buon appetito!
