New Zealand Products at Ranch Market prior to Ramadhan
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise held the second debut of its annual consumer food show, Taste New Zealand, from May 15 to June 15 to promote New Zealand food and beverage goods to the Indonesian market.
This year, Taste New Zealand was conducted in all Ranch Market and Farmers Market stores in Indonesia and was officially opened by Trevor Matheson, New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia, on May 19 at Ranch Market Pondok Indah.
“Our trading relationship with Indonesia has been growing steadily. With exports valued at NZ$548 million in 2016, dairy products make up around 42 percent of what we send to Indonesia, while overall, food and beverage exports to Indonesia represent 65.3 percent of New Zealand’s exports to the country. By seeing this demand, we initiated Taste New Zealand as a program to further introduce our high-quality products to Indonesian consumers, ” said Matheson.
With the tagline of Taste Quality, Indonesian customers will be able to taste the goodness of New Zealand products that are synonymous with fresh, premium, best quality goods. This is following a trend where Indonesian consumers are fast seeking premium products from New Zealand to consume daily. The timing of the program was also ideal as families could plan for their family meals and gatherings in the holy month of Ramadhan.
Adding more excitement to this programwere various of promotions and competitions.
“Throughout the promotion, shoppers who purchase over Rp 250,000 will be given a special Taste New Zealand eco shopping bag and a chance to win a trip for two to New Zealand,” said Pingkan Mokalu, Business Development Manager of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
During Taste New Zealand, guests shopped for an array of New Zealand products including Anchor and Tatua dairy products, honey, Wattie’s frozen vegetables, prime cuts of beef, Whitakers Chocolate, fresh New Zealand fruits including apples, kiwi, persimmons and a signature fruit from New Zealand – feijoa – as well as delectable frozen desserts from the New Zealand Dessert Company.
